About the Role: We're seeking a Data Governance Consultant to join our team supporting governance framework design, stewardship models, and policy implementation for a municipal government client. Formal data governance practice (DAMA-DMBOK) matured significantly after 2009 — we're looking for consultants with deep, long-standing experience in the discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data governance frameworks and operating models
- Support governance mandates, decision rights, and workflows
- Lead adoption and change management for governance initiatives
- Design and roll out stewardship models
- Develop training and enablement materials for data owners and stewards
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in data governance consulting or implementation
- Experience developing governance policies, procedures, and standards
- Change management experience in data/IT contexts
Strongly Preferred:
- 15–17+ years experience, spanning the formalization of the discipline
- DGSP, CDMP, or equivalent governance designations
- Municipal or public sector governance program experience
