As the Park Caretaker, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the designated Day Use Park(s) including all infrastructure, vehicles, grounds and equipment.Primary AccountabilitiesInfrastructure maintenance, vehicles, grounds and equipmentEnsuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and department policies.Actively participating in the implementation of departmental OH&S Policy and Programs.Providing visitor information.Monitoring park activities for regulation compliance.Advising visitors of park regulations and reporting non-compliance to conservation officers.Qualifications and ExperienceTwo (2) years of related experience, which can include:General carpentry, building and grounds maintenance, general machine maintenance.Use of tractors, ride‑on mowers, push mowers, string trimmers and hand and power tools.Valid NS Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent.Valid (Standard)

Most tasks will be in an outdoor environment and may involve strenuous activities in wide-ranging weather conditions and extremes.Employee walks for extended periods of time and distance over both even and uneven terrain while patrolling the park.Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.All personnel may be called upon for assistance in emergency situations.Additional InformationThere is one (1) permanent seasonal opportunity available in Cow Bay.
