This role focuses on providing peer-based support within a team dedicated to client and family-centered services. As a Peer Advocate, you will conduct information sessions, assist clients in navigating services, and provide outreach. Engage with clients to foster trust and deliver essential resources for health and social services, all framed by VCH’s commitments to equity and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individual and group peer support sessions
• Advocate for client-friendly services free of discrimination
• Organize educational venues and materials
• Compile statistics and assist with program development
• Participate in team planning and quality improvement
Requirements:
• Diploma in Community Social Services and 2 years' experience
• Completion of recognized Peer Support Training
• Knowledge of the substance use recovery system
• Valid BC driver’s license may be required
• Preference for individuals with lived experience
