Join the Sobering and Assessment Centre in Campbell River, providing essential support to guests through intake and discharge processes. This position emphasizes empathy, safety, and effective communication.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Sobering Assessment Centre Worker plays a critical role in helping clients impacted by substance use, mental health issues, or homelessness. You will ensure a clean and secure workplace while observing and documenting client behavior. Immediate impact and direct assistance to vulnerable individuals are key aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests
• Screen clients for admittance and record discharges
• Observe clients and report essential information
• Provide food, hygiene supplies, and first aid items
• Facilitate connections to community resources
Requirements:
• 3-6 months related experience or equivalent education
• Valid First Aid with CPR-C certification
• Valid Food Safe Certificate
• Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check
• Effective communication skills in verbal and written forms
