Position Overview
As the Finishing Maestro, you will be responsible for overseeing the finishing processes of wood products, ensuring that all items meet Aroh Inc.’s quality and aesthetic standards. This role requires expertise in various finishing techniques, including sanding, staining, sealing, and painting, as well as a deep understanding of the properties of different wood types. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that our finished products reflect the high standards our clients expect.

Your ability to work collaboratively with other team members in the wood shop contributes to a smooth and effective production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review work orders carefully to ensure all job details are understood and seek clarification when needed to ensure accuracy.
- Apply various finishing techniques, including sanding, staining, sealing, and painting, to substrates to achieve desired aesthetics and durability.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal results.
- Choose appropriate finishes and treatments based on the type of substrates and the specific requirements of each project.
- Operate and maintain finishing equipment and tools,
ensuring they are in safe and working order.
- Work closely with other team members to coordinate workflows and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols in the finishing shop, promoting a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of finishing processes and materials used for each project.
- Match colors and stains for laminates, using custom finishing techniques. Mix and apply stains and lacquers, ensuring color, finish consistency and repeatability.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform regular equipment maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification in woodworking or finishing preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in wood finishing or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing or sign-making environment.
- Proficiency in various finishing techniques and familiarity with a range of finishes and treatments.
- Robust attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work consistently.
- Knowledge of wood properties and how different finishes interact with various wood types.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the finishing process.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour
