Senior IT Project Manager – Cloud, AI & Digital Transformation

Seeking an accomplished Senior IT Project Manager to lead multiple enterprise technology initiatives involving cloud platforms, Microsoft 365, artificial intelligence and digital modernization.
This is a senior-level assignment suited to a Project Manager who is comfortable operating across technical teams, business stakeholders and executive leadership. The successful candidate will take projects from analysis and planning through implementation while providing strong governance, risk management, stakeholder communication and delivery leadership.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You will lead and coordinate multiple technology projects, including developing project charters, business and project plans, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, risk strategies and governance structures.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading complex IT projects from analysis through implementation
- Developing detailed project schedules and monitoring milestones and deliverables
- Managing project scope, resources, dependencies, risks and budgets
- Coordinating technical, business and vendor stakeholders
- Developing project charters, plans and requirements documentation
- Supporting cloud, M365 and AI-related technology initiatives
- Identifying and managing risks across large, complex projects
- Preparing project status reporting and executive-level presentations
- Facilitating steering committee and stakeholder meetings
- Leading change management and project communications
- Working with project sponsors and senior leadership to resolve issues and maintain delivery
- Managing multiple projects and project resources concurrently
- Supporting governance and continuous improvement of project-management practices
These responsibilities closely reflect the assignment’s stated expectations around project planning, enterprise architecture, stakeholder management, governance, schedules, risks, requirements and change management.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have significant senior-level IT project management experience, including:
- PMP certification – required
- Approximately 10+ years of project management / scheduling experience
- 10+ years identifying, analyzing and managing risks on large, complex projects
- At least 5 years of experience implementing cloud-based projects and services at scale
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure environments
- Experience with change management and communications
- Understanding of User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
The assignment specifically requires PMP certification and substantial experience in project scheduling, complex project risk management and large-scale cloud implementation.
Highly Desirable Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in several of the following:
- Artificial intelligence implementation projects
- Microsoft 365 environments
- Large-scale cloud transformation
- Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Cybersecurity controls within project solutions
- Disaster recovery and business continuity
- Business process improvement
- Requirements gathering and documentation
- Leading senior stakeholder and executive meetings
- Public-sector or similarly complex regulated environments
The underlying requirement places particular value on AI project experience, process improvement, business continuity and significant public-sector experience. Work Arrangement The position will primarily operate remotely; however, the successful candidate must reside and perform the work within Canada and be available to attend meetings in Edmonton, Alberta, when required. In office meetings may occur approximately 3–4 times per month.
Candidates will be responsible for their own computer and remote-work equipment.
