Support the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in Victoria as a Sessional Officer, working directly to facilitate public access and ensure security in parliamentary settings.
This auxiliary, on-site role requires attentive, diplomatic, and service-oriented individuals. As a Sessional Officer, you'll manage access for MLAs and the public while upholding security protocols during House sittings and committee meetings. Your schedule will vary as needed, primarily between 8:30 am and 7:00 pm on weekdays when the House is in session.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate controlled access for MLAs and authorized personnel
• Provide security screenings during public access events
• Prepare and secure the parliamentary facilities before and after use
• Ensure adherence to legislative protocols and tactful communication
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors
Requirements:
• Completion of grade 12 with one year in customer service
• Proven experience in professional and courteous communication
• Ability to work flexible schedule based on parliamentary needs
• Skills in tactfulness and discretion for sensitive situations
• Must be at least 16 years of age
