Job Title: Tool and Die SupervisorThe Tool and Die Supervisor oversees tooling fabrication and maintenance activities, including jigs, fixtures, and precision tooling, to support demanding production requirements in a high‑precision environment. This role plans and prioritizes work, ensures tooling readiness and compliance with aerospace quality standards, and provides technical support to resolve complex tooling and dimensional issues. The supervisor leads a skilled trades team in a unionized environment, drives continuous improvement, and ensures a protected, clean, and organized workplace.ResponsibilitiesPlan and prioritize daily and long‑term tooling workload in alignment with production schedules and critical path requirements.Supervise tooling fabrication and maintenance activities for jigs, fixtures, and precision tooling to support manufacturing operations.Ensure all tooling is delivered on time, validated to specifications, and fully ready for use in production.Provide technical tooling and metrology support, including laser tracking, alignment, and production line recovery activities.Partner closely with Operations and Engineering teams to diagnose and resolve complex tooling and dimensional issues affecting production.Ensure strict compliance with aerospace quality standards (AS9100), engineering requirements, and all applicable safety regulations.Maintain tooling configuration control and traceability to support quality and regulatory requirements.Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve tooling reliability and extend tooling lifecycle performance.Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling‑related issues using structured problem‑solving methods.Manage tooling resources, including scheduling, capacity planning, and coordination of material procurement.Coordinate and oversee external vendors and contractors, ensuring on‑time delivery, quality workmanship, and technical compliance with specifications.Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.Lead, coach, and develop a team of skilled trades employees in a unionized environment,



providing clear direction and regular feedback.Apply and administer the collective agreement fairly and consistently in collaboration with union representatives.Drive employee engagement, accountability, and ongoing skill development within the tooling team.Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste across tooling processes.Essential SkillsRed Seal Tool & Die License.Minimum of 10+ years of experience in tooling, fabrication, and/or precision manufacturing.At least 5+ years of leadership experience supervising technical or skilled trades teams.Proven ability to lead and supervise tool and die activities in a high‑precision environment.Strong expertise in tooling fabrication, repair, maintenance, and machining.Proficiency in interpreting and working from blueprints and technical drawings.Hands‑on troubleshooting skills for tooling and die issues affecting production.Experience working with tight tolerances and high‑precision manufacturing requirements.Knowledge and experience with AS9100 aerospace quality standards.Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills for root cause analysis and corrective actions.Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced production environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience supervising unionized employees and working with collective agreements is strongly preferred.Background in metrology techniques, including laser tracking and alignment, is an asset.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience managing external vendors and contractors for tooling‑related work.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Operations and Engineering.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead, coach, and develop skilled trades employees.Organizational skills to maintain configuration control, traceability,
