Senior
Underwriter, Commercial Lines Underwrites and prices recent business applications, endorsements and renewals on commercial lines policies within a set binding authority to grow and maintain a profitable portfolio. Underwrite and price new business applications, endorsements and renewals of complex nature on Commercial Lines policies within set binding authority to grow and maintain a profitable portfolio. Maintain in‑force policies and ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules,
and certificates attached.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with brokers by providing exceptional customer service. Work collaboratively to support broker, claims, pricing and accounting inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service by answering telephone inquiries, making outgoing calls, responding to emails and/or faxes as may be required.
Willingness to travel as some travel is required (20%). A minimum of 6 to 10 years experience in commercial lines underwriting. Post‑secondary education in a related field and/or a CIP designation is required.
Working towards FCIP or CRM designation is an asset. Strong product knowledge and thorough understanding of insurance policy wordings with the ability to make sound business decisions based on those wordings. French would be an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish professional relationships.
