Seniors’ Program Support

Job Title: Seniors’ Program Support

Reports to: Seniors’ Services Team Lead

Start date: ASAP

Deadline: 4:30pm, Thursday, September 24, 2026

Hours: 13.5 to 15 Hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Wage: $25.89/hr.

Mileage: $50.00/day mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle to transport seniors

Job Summary: The Seniors’ Program Support position will provide a combination of transportation, program, administrative, and practical support to AHCS Seniors’ Services programs, with a primary focus on the Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS).

This is a flexible and hands-on role that will support the day-to-day delivery of TAPS and other seniors’ programs as needed. The successful candidate will assist with participant transportation, errands and supply pickup, administrative tasks, attendance and data entry, marketing, and other duties that contribute to the smooth operation and success of Seniors’ Services.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, versatile, compassionate, organized, and comfortable working directly with older adults while also assisting with a variety of behind-the-scenes program needs.

Qualifications/Education:

- Experience working with seniors, individuals with diverse needs, or in a community-based program is an asset.
- Previous experience providing transportation, program support, customer service, or administrative assistance is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be comfortable and confident driving an agency vehicle and/or using their personal vehicle for program-related transportation.
- If using a personal vehicle for work purposes, must maintain appropriate business-use insurance.




- Experience working in a non-profit or community service organization is an asset.
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.

- Ability to safely assist seniors as appropriate and respond calmly to changing situations.
- Comfortable completing basic administrative tasks, including attendance tracking, data entry, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to create or assist with social media posts, flyers, and other basic marketing materials.
- Professional judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Transportation Support: With personal vehicle, provides safe and reliable transportation for participants attending the Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS). AHCS vehicle may be available occasionally.
- Errands and Supply Pickup: Runs program-related errands,



including picking up groceries, supplies, materials, or other items required for the delivery of Seniors’ Services programs.
- Administrative Support: Completes basic administrative tasks including data entry, attendance tracking, recordkeeping, filing, and other computer-based duties as assigned.
- Marketing & Communication: Assists with the creation of social media content, flyers, posters, and other promotional materials to support Seniors’ Services programs and activities.
- Program Preparation and Organization: Assists with preparing materials, supplies, rooms, and resources needed for programs and activities and helps ensure program spaces are organized and ready for participants.
- Policy Adherence: Ensures that program standards, guidelines, safety procedures, and AHCS policies are consistently followed.
- Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Seniors’ Services Team Lead or as necessary to support the successful delivery of Seniors’ Services programs.
- Professional Development: Participates in staff development, training sessions, and staff meetings as required to enhance skills, knowledge, and team collaboration.

Other requirements:

- Reliable, safe vehicle with appropriate insurance to transport seniors
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence
- Drivers abstract
