Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Sheet Metal & Flashing Fabricator to join our production team in Mission, BC.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating shop fabrication equipment—including hydraulic brakes, shears, and slitting lines—to produce custom architectural flashings, trims, panels, and cladding components. You will work closely with our project managers, in-house designer, and field installation teams to ensure all custom components are fabricated safely, accurately, to specification, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Custom Flashing & Sheet Metal Fabrication

- Braking & Shearing: Set up and operate CNC/manual press brakes, shears, power slitters, and notchers to fabricate custom architectural flashings, drip caps, copings, and trim details.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, cut sheets, and cladding details to ensure exact dimensions, angles, and material specifications.
- Material Handling: Work with various gauges of prepainted steel, coil-coated aluminum, stainless steel, and composite metals.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished fabrications for dimensional accuracy, crisp bend angles, finish quality, and minimal material waste.

2. Shop Operations & Maintenance

- Equipment Maintenance:



Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on shop machinery and hand tools.
- Inventory & Order Support: Assist in tracking sheet coil stock, cut lists, and scrap metal handling.
- Safety & Workplace Standards: Adhere to WorkSafeBC regulations, shop safety standards, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with shop supervisors and site installation crews to prioritize urgent job site requests.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: 2–3+ years of hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience, specifically focusing on architectural flashing and custom trim work.
- Machinery Skills: Proven experience operating press brakes (manual or CNC), power shears, and sheet metal hand tools.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read shop drawings, architectural details, cut sheets, and use trade math/geometry for precision bends and layout.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle sheet metal coils and full-length brake profiles safely.
- Reliability & Attitude: Strong work ethic, keen eye for detail, team player, and commitment to shop safety.
