Description
Responsibilities:
Develop test strategies, test plans for both manual end to end QA testing, and automation testing
Design, write and modify automated test plans/ test scripts that automatically test functionality & business workflow
Executes and manages test automation; provides assessment of test program results
Collaborate with DevOps engineer to integrate automation testing scripts to DevOps CD/CI pipeline
Perform quality assurance and testing activities for various types of testing such as but not limited to system testing, Web-based UI testing, integration testing for both systems and applications, functional and non functional testing, regression testing, unit testing, post-release / post-implementation testing, load testing, smoke, performance testing and accessibility & AODA testing
Create testing artifacts(e.g. test plan, test cases, test data, test results, defects with detail info and screenshots, test reports/matrix) and managing testing life cycles in Azure DevOps
Create/prepare test data to cover all scenarios for a given test case with wide range of existing data based on business scenarios
Perform data analysis and data validation for end-to-end ETL processing testing; including but not limited to data completeness, data accuracy, data integrity for all possible sample records, data redundancy, data format, functional scenarios, and integration workflows
Perform a complete data comparison between source and target by writing program/sql or using tools
Communicate test results regularly through automated reports that summarize test completion and defects found
Provide testing and defect status updates in daily scrum stand-ups, team meetings as required
Supports clients with user acceptance testing (UAT) activities
Actively Participate in elicitation and business requirement workshop sessions, sprint reviews and/or walkthrough meetings
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the agile / iterative solution development lifecycle
Investigates problems/defects, works with developers and BA to find root causes and resolution solutions
Other tasks as required by client to contribute the success delivery of the project
Provide daily report confirming status of assigned tasks
Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines
Comply with the Ontario Government I⁢ Directive, standards, operational policy, security procedures and practices, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedures
Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Guidelines;
General Skills:
Experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the senior level
Knowledge of structured and Agile methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
Knowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test cases
Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
Experience on hands on functional tests, non-functional tests and systems/applications level integration tests
Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities
Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured, Agile methodologies
Experience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation
Experience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc.
Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Experience in the use of information retrieval packages
Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems
Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases
Experience testing application that developed by Open software, preferably Drupal
Experience in DevOPs methodology is an asset
Experience on data analysis and data verification for testing ETL, BI products, web-based applications
Experience identifying and documenting bugs and quality issues in development, service or business processes.
Experience installing applications and databases relevant to automation
Experience collaborating with stakeholders to understand how automation can improve workflow and creating documentation
Experience gathering and documenting requirements from end-users to develop the best automation solutions
Knowledge transfer:
Documentation and facilitation of knowledge transfer artefacts and sessions
Knowledge transfer to client staff in a format specified by the Client to the designated Client staff
Work Location:
Consultants will be stationed at 40 St Clair West, Toronto, Ontario. As per the existing OPS return to office policy, vendor consultant resources must work on-site for a minimum of 3 days per week. The Ministry will determine the on-site work requirements based on the future OPS return to office policy. If the future policy mandates 100% in office work, consultants will be obligated to work on-site entirely, unless exceptional circumstances warrant an approved alternative arrangement. If the Vendor/Resource will have any work performed outside of the Province of Ontario or Canada, the Vendor must obtain pre-approval from clients before consultants leave the Province/Country and identify the location of where the work will be performed and the type of work to be performed.
Working Hours:
The Clients normal business working hours are between 9:0
0 am to 5:00 pm (excluding lunch breaks),Monday to Friday inclusive. Resources are required to work during OPS business working Hours. Resources need to be reachable in person or through OPS team collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams) during the OPS normal business working hours. If required by Clients, the Vendor must provide Services outside of these normal working hours and on non-Business Day. The Vendor will not be entitled to charge overtime or more than the Fixed Price or Per Diem Rate as set out in the applicable SOW as a result of providing Services outside of normal working hours or on a non-Business Day.

Hybrid- Candidate MUST work 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
MUST HAVES:
8+ years web-based system testing and QA experience for following type of testing but not limited to:
Integration testing for both system and applications
Unit testing
Regression testing
Functional testing
Accessibility testing
Non-functional testing
Web-based applications
Smoke testing
Performance and stress testing
5+ years of hands on experience of BI product and end to end ETL testing experience
