Shape Indigenous community engagement with Douglas College as the Manager of Indigenous Community Development. Lead initiatives supporting Indigenous students and enhance relationships with local Nations and organizations.
Within this managerial role, report directly to the Associate Vice President, Student Affairs. You will implement community development initiatives, foster respectful relationships, and support Indigenous student pathways for engagement and success. Collaborate closely with academic and cultural partners to ensure effective Indigenization within higher education frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and oversee Indigenous community initiatives and partnerships
• Organize events to strengthen community relationships
• Collaborate with departments for Indigenization efforts
• Monitor recruitment and engagement trends for Indigenous students
• Provide strategic advice on employment opportunities in the College
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in relevant fields
• Three years leadership experience in community development
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community needs
• Solid organizational and analytical skills
• Commitment to equity and reconciliation initiatives
