Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our maintenance and repair operations within a busy shop environment. The ideal candidate will oversee daily shop activities, coordinate repairs, and ensure that all machinery and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. Duties

- Oversee, supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the shop
- Supervisions of mechanics and maintenance staff to ensure schedules and timelines are met
- Assist with hiring, training, mentoring, and performance development of maintenance staff.
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Complete daily activity reports and daily logs
- Assist mechanics with troubleshooting
- Assist with hiring, training, mentoring, and performance development of maintenance staff.
- Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
- Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
- Coordinate parts, tools, equipment, and outside vendor services as required.
- Communicate fleet maintenance issues, vehicle availability, and repair priorities to management and operations staff.
- Review work orders and ensure labor, parts, and repair information are properly documented.
- Take corrective action to mitigate immediate hazards.




- Follow up on parts orders
- Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
- Ensure CVIP’s are done in a timely manner and scheduled accordingly
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
- Assist with hiring, training, mentoring, and performance development of maintenance staff.
- Other duties as assigned by President

Foreman Qualifications

- Must have (5) to (10) years' Journeyperson experience
- Must have (5) years of previous supervisory experience in a shop environment
- Ability to read/troubleshoot and diagnose using hydraulic and electronic schematics
- Must be open to new learning experiences
- Must be forward thinking and solution-based thinking
- Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are required
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and fleet maintenance
- Robust knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and make sound repair recommendations
- Experience supervising or directing mechanics




- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple repairs and competing operational demands
- Comfortable working with maintenance records, costs and equipment reports
- Robust computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
