Duties
- Operate snow removal equipment such as blowers, shovels, and other hand or power tools to clear snow and ice efficiently.
- Assess weather conditions regularly to determine the scope of snow removal needed and respond promptly to changing circumstances.
- Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice formation and enhance safety on walkways and parking areas.
- Monitor designated areas continuously during snowfall events to address any emerging hazards quickly.
- Maintain detailed logs of completed work, equipment usage,
and safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various weather conditions.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing routine maintenance tasks.
- Previous construction or outdoor maintenance experience is advantageous for handling diverse winter weather challenges.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in cold temperatures for extended periods while performing strenuous tasks.
- Solid attention to safety procedures and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
