We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Snow Plow Operator to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring safe and efficient snow removal operations during winter months. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience with various tools and equipment related to landscaping and maintenance. A commitment to safety and quality work is paramount.
Duties
- Operate snow plow vehicles to clear snow from roads, parking lots, Bus Stops and other designated areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on snow plow equipment, including checking fluid levels, changing oil, and ensuring all mechanical components are functioning properly.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for snow removal tasks as needed.
- Assist in landscape maintenance activities during off-season, including gardening, irrigation, and horticulture tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective snow removal strategies based on weather conditions.
- Monitor weather forecasts and respond promptly to changing conditions to ensure timely snow removal.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment used.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance on vehicles and tools.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices, including gardening and irrigation systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to heavy machinery operation are a plus.
- Must be physically fit to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy loads and working long hours in winter conditions.
