As a member of the Canadian Natural Fire Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our oil sands sites through emergency response, community education, and ongoing training. Job location: Horizon or Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, rotating days/nights - 12-hour shifts
Safety sensitive position: Yes
Key Accountabilities:
Deliver high-quality BLS/ALS medical response in accordance with established Provincial protocols
Ensure effective emergency response by applying professional skills, sound judgment, and appropriate techniques at all emergency scenes
Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and general readiness of fire apparatus and related emergency response equipment
Conduct fire code inspections of site facilities and participate in site pre-fire planning activities
Demonstrate solid leadership and contribute to the training and development of emergency response members
What You Bring to the Role:
Must have prior experience working as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and must be in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics with Active Registration
Qualified Advanced Care Paramedics without previous fire service experience will be considered. Successful candidates may be required to complete fire service training as part of their development within the role

Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification (Pro-board or IFSAC Accreditation)
Must have NFPA 472 Hazmat Awareness & Operations (Pro-board or IFSAC Accreditation)
Valid Class 2/3 or 4 with Air brakes (Q) endorsement driver’s license or another provincial equivalent.
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum standard of physical fitness is required for this role
