Polaris School and Centre is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade School Class Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

Founded in 2018, Polaris is a small, independent Waldorf-inspired school located in the heart of Ottawa. We are a growing and diverse community, committed to providing a holistic education that nurtures the head, heart, and hands of every child. Our approach emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning to cultivate a lifelong love of learning, self-confidence, resilience, creativity, and respect for others and the natural world.

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced educator who enjoys working with children and thrives in a collaborative teaching environment. The ideal candidate is a Waldorf-trained and/or Ontario-certified teacher with teaching experience and comfort in leading a split-grade class.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver main lesson blocks and additional lessons following Waldorf pedagogy and curriculum.

Engage students through hands-on, experiential learning,



integrating movement and the arts into academic subjects.

Assess student progress and communicate results with students, parents, and faculty.

Identify and address individual learning needs.

Participate in staff meetings, mentoring, and professional development workshops as required.

Qualifications

Ideally the completion of a Waldorf Teacher Training Certification OR Ontario Teacher Certification with at least one year of teaching experience (or equivalent experience).

Proficiency in English ; additional languages, especially French , are an asset.

Salary & Benefits

Full time salary: $48,000 – $65,000 (commensurate with training and experience).
