We’re looking for an experienced drywall taper/finisher to join DryBuild Alberta on a contract basis. Jobs include basements, renovations, and residential projects across Calgary. This is not full-time - we assign work as projects come in. Must be able to finish walls from board joints to paint-ready.
Job Description DryBuild Alberta is looking for a skilled Drywall Taper / Finisher who knows how to turn a taped wall into a flawless finish.
We’re a Calgary-based drywall and basement development company, and we’re expanding our team of reliable tradespeople for contract-based projects.
Work is mostly residential - basements, houses, and small commercial jobs. Perfect for someone already in the trade who wants extra, flexible work. If you can deliver a clean Level 4-5 finish and work independently, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities Tape, mud, and finish drywall joints to a smooth, paint-ready surface.
Perform all stages of taping: coating, corner bead installation, and sanding.




Repair small drywall damages or imperfections as needed.
Prepare surfaces for paint or texture applications.
Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe.
Communicate effectively with our team about timelines and materials.
Requirements Minimum 2-3 years of drywall taping experience (residential preferred).
Must be able to complete a full finishing process independently.
Robust attention to detail - Level 4 or Level 5 finishing quality.
Reliable vehicle and basic hand tools.
Ability to work efficiently and maintain cleanliness on site.
(Optional but preferred) WCB coverage and liability insurance for subcontractors.
Flexible, steady contract work as projects come in.
Pay based on experience and quality - per hour or per project.
Work directly with a reputable Calgary company focused on quality finishes.
Potential for long-term cooperation on larger developments.
