OpportunityAs Market Lead, Energy (Canada East), you will play a defining role in shaping WSP's Energy strategy across eastern Canada and beyond. This senior leadership position involves influencing how major energy systems are planned, delivered, and evolved — supporting the transition to resilient, low‐carbon, and future‐ready energy infrastructure. You will lead projects, manage key accounts, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain high standards of service reliability and customer satisfaction.Your ImpactYou will be the Technical Market Leader for Energy, reporting to Vice‐President‐Energy.You will be responsible for leading and growing the Energy practice in Eastern Canada.You will act as a thought leader, applying advanced knowledge and be externally recognized as a top "go-to" resource in your field.You will make decisions on highly complex work approaches and completion of team tasks.You will anticipate business needs, secure required resources, and lead initiatives to implement change.You will make recommendations and be involved with important decision‐making on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects.You will be accountable to lead certain client accounts and engagements within the Energy Group.You will support the growth of technical disciplines required for Energy.You will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards and provide oversight and governance on major projects within the Energy team.You will provide governance on Energy jobs including quality and lead Energy proposals.You will collaborate with other internal departments and stakeholders to improve quality and project delivery, including management of subconsultants.You will mentor and coach other Energy staff as required.The Skills That Set You ApartAt least 18 years experience, with at least 10 years' experience in a leadership role in the Energy sector.Hands‐on experience with Project Delivery.Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma from a post‐secondary institution is required.Proven experience in business development with an existing network in the Eastern Canadian Energy market (Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic provinces).Robust financial and business acumen – experience with managing business operations and/or a P&L is an asset.Strong understanding of the energy sector, including industry trends and emerging technologies related to energy transformation and decarbonization.Ability to negotiate and build relationships with clients.P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is an asset.Bilingual in both French and English is required.CompensationBC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $147,500 – $195,400MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600Atlantic Provinces & QC: $133,200 – $176,900EEO StatementWSP is committed to the principles of employment equity.
