The lactation consultant will provide support, encouragement, instruction and education that allows breastfeeding people to overcome obstacles that make it difficult to start or continue nursing. The lactation consultant will empower families to achieve their infant feeding goals by providing compassionate guidance, practical solutions and ongoing support throughout the prenatal, postpartum and early parenting stages. The lactation consultant will collaborate with the midwifery team and other health care professionals to ensure coordinated maternal infant care.
