We value diversity, sustainability and mutual growth.Your work setting at EXPAs part of the Soils and Materials team in the Calgary office, you will work with Project Engineers, Managers, and the Discipline Manager to perform construction observations, confirm construction materials design elements, conduct materials quality assurance/control testing, and report results in the field and laboratory for projects primarily in and around Calgary.What a day at EXP has in store for youExecuting on-site concrete tests, including casting cylinders, slump test, and air content testIn-place density testing using a nuclear densometerCarrying out asphalt and concrete coringCollecting soil and asphalt samples on sitePerforming some in-lab work, such as testing concrete cylinders, grain-size analysis, Proctor tests, asphalt tests, geotechnical index testing,
etc.Subgrade field reviewsProblem solving of project site issuesAttending staff and project meetings when requestedInteracting with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their testing needsWhat Your Experience Looks LikeCompletion of, or current enrollment in, a recognized Civil Engineering Technology diploma program is considered an assetMinimum 3 years of experience in concrete, asphalt, and soil testingFamiliarity with construction specifications used by the City of Calgary and surrounding municipalities is an assetHolding a CCIL certification is an assetAbility to work safely and effectively in field environments on active construction sitesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsValid driver’s licenseProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and perform under pressureHighly organized with strong time-management skillsWillingness to work night shifts and weekends as requiredEmployment Equity ProgramEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
