Job Details:

Position Title: Sonography Clinical Specialist

Status: Temporary Part-time

Hours: 24 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health & Life Sciences

Campus/Location: North Campus

Minimum Starting Salary: $26.60 – Max $40.50

About the Sonography Clinical Specialist Role:

Under the general direction of and reporting to an Associate Dean in the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, the incumbent will be a registered sonography professional who supports students,



faculty and staff in the delivery of the laboratory and clinical components of the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and Medical Diagnostic Sonography Programs.

This role reinforces practice skills, provides feedback based on pre-determined criteria/learning outcomes and provides technical expertise for students in laboratory and clinical settings to become proficient in the performance of skills as established for the Sonography Programs.

In this role, the Sonography Clinical Specialist supports learners by applying previously taught theoretical content to practical application and supports skills mastery through demonstration and feedback of Faculty developed pre-established performance checklists within the laboratory and clinical setting. The role will also assist in the delivery of open lab time for students, reinforcing current learning that has been taught by Faculty in laboratory classes.

Education

- Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Medical or Cardiac Sonography.

- Registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario.

- CPR & First Aid are required.

Experience/Skills

Minimum of three years that includes:

- Maintaining electronic health records.

- Completing Sonographic Scanning

- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication and teamwork, including presentation skills.

- Efficient use of digital tools: Microsoft 365, Learning Management Software etc.

- Initiative and timeline planning.
