Learn the Business Behind the Ore!

We’re looking for a Specialist, Metals Accountability to join our team at Levack and McCreedy West Mine — and you don’t need previous metals accountability experience to be successful in this role.

This opportunity is about process, problem-solving, efficiency, and continuous improvement. You’ll learn the business behind ore shipments, reconciliation, assays, and off-take agreements while working across Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams.

If you’re analytical, curious, and enjoy finding better ways to make processes and information work, this is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge of the mining business.

All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty and integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Reconcile ore production, inventories, shipments, customer receipts, and payable metal from crusher production through final settlement.

- Review information across production, haulage, inventory, sampling, shipping, and settlement data to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Develop and maintain mass balance reconciliations and standardized processes that improve the accuracy and consistency of reporting.

- Coordinate assay exchange programs and reconcile company, customer, and umpire assay results.

- Review customer settlement statements and support the reconciliation of provisional and final payable metal calculations.

- Work with Finance to support accurate month-end and year-end reporting.

- Reconcile haulage contractor records against production, dispatch, and customer receipt information.

- Develop and improve dashboards and reporting that bring production and commercial information together in one place.

- Collect, validate, and analyze production, grade, shipment, and commercial data to support better business decisions.

- Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, regulatory requirements, and commercial reviews.

- Look for opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency, automate reporting, strengthen controls, and improve the flow of information across the business.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

- Have post-secondary education in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mineral Processing, Geology, Commerce, Accounting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.

- Bring 2+ years of experience in a mining, operational, analytical, financial, logistics, technical, or process-focused role.

- Are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how processes work from beginning to end.

- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are comfortable working with large amounts of data.

- Can identify discrepancies, investigate why they happened, and work with others to find solutions.

- Bring strong Microsoft Excel skills and are comfortable learning recent systems and reporting tools.

- Have experience with Power BI, ERP systems, dispatch systems, laboratory systems,

or other data and reporting tools — considered an asset.

- Understand mining operations or ore handling processes — considered an asset, but not required.

- Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to work across multiple departments and priorities.

- Are interested in learning the commercial side of mining, including ore accountability, shipments, assays, reconciliation, and off-take agreements.

Previous metals accountability experience is not required. We’re looking for someone with the right analytical mindset, curiosity, and drive to improve how things are done.
