The Regulatory Affairs
Specialist supports the brand teams with recipe and beverage nutritional data, ingredient listings and allergen statements ensuring compliance to applicable Canadian regulatory requirements and company standards, including claim verification. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for keeping abreast of all applicable regulatory updates, participate in any regulatory initiatives when required and advise to the business of any potential impact. This is a 6 months contract role.
Ownership of regulatory compliance for all new and existing in-restaurant products Generation and maintenance of accurate nutritional data, ingredient lists and allergen information Review and approval of all marketing materials (menu’s, menu boards, commercials, mailers, e-blasts, websites)
for regulatory compliance Responsible for monitoring government regulations and initiatives for impact to the business Provide regulatory support to the business for internal and external communications Manage time lines across several brands to ensure that projects are effectively executed to meet business objectives Provide information that will help make regulatory decisions that will both protect and promote the business Provide regulatory guidance on nutrition and regulatory requirements to marketing, brands, and sourcing, as needed Honors in Food or Nutrition Science or related ~5+ years experience in related field ~ Strong technical background in nutrition and/or Food Science, food chemistry, product composition, and methods of analysis ~ In depth knowledge of Canada’s Food and Drug Act and Regulations and Healthy Menu Choices Act - Labelling Requirements ~ Expert in developing ingredient listings, allergen statements, and nutrition data for recipes uncooked and as cooked ~ Lead and develop regulatory related objectivities and strategies ~ Lead regulatory and labelling policy compliance ~ Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel with proficiency in working with databases ~ Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to prioritize based on business needs and expectations ~ Flexible/Hybrid work environment ~ You’d be joining a close-knit, innovative team of creative and energetic go-getters ~ Recipe is dedicated to providing accommodations in accordance with applicable human rights and accommodation legislation.
