Local Position – No Camp or Flights

LN Land Development Technologies is seeking a Surveyor & UAV Pilot to support aerial LiDAR, photogrammetry, and survey operations in Fort McMurray.

The successful candidate will collect static GNSS data, complete RTK as-builts of aerial ground-control targets, and safely plan and execute UAV missions in remote and industrial environments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Collect and document static GNSS observations

Establish and RTK as-built aerial targets, control points, and checkpoints

Verify coordinate systems, datums, antenna heights, and survey accuracy

Plan and safely execute UAV LiDAR, photogrammetry, imagery, and mapping missions

Complete pre-flight assessments, equipment checks, flight logs, and field documentation

Confirm survey control and UAV data are complete and suitable for processing

Coordinate with project managers, flight crews, clients, and processing personnel

Organize and submit survey data, UAV data, photographs, field notes, and daily summaries

Follow all company, client, regulatory, and site-safety requirements

WHAT YOU BRING

Previous surveying or geomatics field experience

Experience with Trimble survey equipment

Experience with GNSS, RTK, and survey control





Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain one within the first month of employment

Strong understanding of survey accuracy, coordinate systems, and datums

Strong attention to detail and field documentation skills

Ability to work independently in remote and industrial environments

Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence

Ability to meet client site-access requirements, including drug and alcohol testing

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis

ASSETS

UAV LiDAR, photogrammetry, imagery, or mapping experience

Experience with aerial ground-control targets and checkpoints

Industrial, oil sands, mining, or heavy civil survey experience

Diploma or post-secondary education in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field

WHAT WE OFFER

$40.00-$45.00 per hour, based on experience

10 days on / 4 days off – day shift only

This is a local Fort McMurray position. Camp accommodations and flights are not provided.
