We are looking for an extremely motivated and professional candidate to join our fast growing team! Men's Health Clinic Manitoba is a new premier hybrid public/private clinic and a fully accredited private surgical facility.
Tasks overview
- Processing of instruments and supplies in preparation for sterilization
- Understanding of the dynamics of sterilization and an ability to operate any sterilization system in use within Men's Health Clinic Manitoba. This includes how to prepare the device for a particular sterilization technique, how to operate the sterilizer, including safety issues, and how to process monitoring readings, error codes and quality assurance for load releases.
- Maintaining an understanding of and adhering to Quality Assurance and Policies and Procedures.
- Handling and transporting sterile supplies throughout the clinic.
- Turning over of rooms and having them ready
- Maintaining laundry
- Interacting in person and /or on the telephone with clinic personnel to ensure supply issues are met.
- Picking up and transporting soiled instruments and equipment throughout the clinic ensuring infection control principles are followed.
- Ordering equipment and supplies, as well as organizing them.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a Certified Registered Central Services Technician program required.
- A complete and thorough understanding of aseptic technique, cleaning, preparation, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, storage and delivery of sterilized products; a complete and thorough understanding of the function of sterilizing equipment, washer/decontaminators, pasteurizers, sterile drying cabinets and heat sealers; a thorough understanding of related quality policies and procedures; and an understanding of the care and handling of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Must understand and apply safety principles to self and patients, and demonstrate good customer service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a positive knowledge of instrumentation and sterilization techniques.
- Must be capable or working under pressure and performing a wide range of duties that may require independent action.
- Must be able to apply knowledge through experience to organize duties systematically.
- Must be cooperative, alert, accept directions, and be able to function as a team member.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $23.00 per hour
