The Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI) was founded in 1975, on the recommendation of a federal commission on farm machinery advocating for the creation of a central agency for testing and evaluating farm machinery in Canada. PAMIs mandate has evolved to include researching, designing, building and testing technology in the agriculture, mining and transportation industries.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the HR and Payroll Administrator provides payroll and HR services for the organization. This position is a 1-year term role. The following are the general duties of the position:

HR Services:

- Lead recruiting and offboarding activities
- Administer the employee benefit and pension plans
- Responsible for performance evaluation system and employee engagement surveys




- Ensure HR and Labour Standard compliance in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba
- Maintain all HR documents including but not limited to interview guides, employment offers, onboarding & offboarding paperwork, job descriptions, HR policy manual
- When required, complete employee performance improvement plans

Payroll Services:

- Process bi-weekly payroll and all payroll related functions
- Support time and attendance tracking activities and communicate with management, reconcile time entries, and address discrepancies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Experience using computerized payroll systems and MS Office Suite
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation and employment standards (SK, MB)
- Working knowledge of employee benefit programs
- Ensure high levels of confidentiality

Education and Experience:

Post‑secondary education in payroll administration or business administration with a minimum of 3-5 years applicable experience
