About the Team
PetSmart's Canada Home Office (CHO) is home to approximately 50+ associates who work in departments such as Merchandising, Marketing, Demand Planning, Pricing, Space Planning, Digital/e-Commerce, Human Resources, Legal, IT and more. The small but mighty team at the CHO supports the operations of 160+ PetSmart stores in Canada and works closely with counterparts at PetSmart's global corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. We also share the Canada Home Office with our colleagues at PetSmart Charities of Canada- an independent, registered charity. About the Location
Collaborative Work Environment: At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Canada Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of three days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to two remote "flex day" (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success.

About the Job
The Sr. Manager, Space Planning will be responsible for the design and implementation of PetSmart's Space, Presentation and Assortment strategy. They will be charged with leading the team to deliver the development of planograms and floorplans that supports the company's overall vision and strategy. Specifically, through POG and floor plan development, they will ensure that space is efficiently allocated and the best items are placed to minimize costs and maximize return on inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





Lead the team to deliver space planning capabilities for all Canada stores

Collaborate with assortment and merchandising teams to develop space allocations and item priorities within assigned categories

Develop floor plans and planograms consistent with company strategies and guidelines

Use and leverage JDA tools and Assortment Optimization to improve store and planogram productivity

Identify opportunities and define solutions to improve space planning processes

Lead a team of space planning associates

Lead cross-functional category planning teams in the execution of category resets

Support merchandising initiatives and manage assortment and space change related to the initiative

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience

5 to 7 years of relevant experience in space planning or category management

2-4 years of leadership experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Software Skills Required

JDA Suite, including Space Planning, AO, and Floor Planning Software Skills Desired

Basic MS Excel

Basic MS PowerPoint

Basic MS Word

MS Access
