STORE & OPERATIONS MANAGER

Vancouver, BC | Full-Time

$75,000–$85,000/year + Benefits

Diving Sports Canada is looking for an experienced Store & Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our busy scuba diving retail and training centre in Vancouver.

We’re looking for someone who naturally sees what needs to be done, leads a team confidently, solves problems independently, and is constantly looking for ways to make a business operate better.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Day-to-day operation of the store
- Leadership, scheduling and accountability of the retail team
- Delegating work and ensuring it actually gets completed
- Maintaining high standards for customer service and store presentation
- Inventory organization, receiving and replenishment
- Merchandising and improving the customer experience
- Coordinating operational needs between retail, courses, rentals and service
- Handling customer issues and making sound decisions independently
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing better processes
- Developing systems and procedures as the company grows
- Supporting hiring, onboarding and training of staff
- Working with ownership on sales growth and business-development initiatives

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You are someone who

- Has previous retail management, operations management or comparable leadership experience
- Has successfully managed employees
- Is organized and able to prioritize in a busy environment




- Doesn't become overwhelmed when several things need attention at once
- Communicates clearly and holds people accountable
- Has strong commercial judgment
- Takes initiative instead of waiting for instructions
- Notices problems and comes forward with solutions
- Enjoys improving systems and finding better ways of doing things
- Is comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for them
- Can move comfortably between managing people, helping customers and solving operational problems

Experience in scuba diving is an asset, but it is not required. Experience managing a specialty retail, outdoor, sporting goods, cycling, ski, marine or similar business would be particularly valuable.

We're looking for someone who can walk into the store, understand the priorities, organize the team, identify what needs attention and make things happen.

Compensation: $75,000–$85,000/year, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
