Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Steel Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining structural steel components used in large-scale building projects, bridges, and industrial facilities. Your expertise will ensure that all steel structures are fabricated accurately, safely, and efficiently, contributing to the successful completion of complex projects.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine assembly procedures and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG and TIG), plasma cutters, and press brake machines to cut, shape, and assemble steel components.
- Perform rigging tasks to lift, position, and secure heavy steel sections using cranes or other lifting devices safely.
- Measure materials precisely with calipers and other measuring tools to ensure accurate fitting and alignment.
- Conduct mechanical knowledge-based tasks such as machining, assembly of ductwork, and fabrication of structural elements.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations, including working at heights or in confined spaces.




- Collaborate with team members on-site or in the workshop to ensure timely project completion while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements

- Proven experience in structural steel fabrication or related construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding.
- Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and machining equipment such as press brakes.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
- Experience with rigging operations involving cranes or other lifting machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of schematics related to ductwork or structural assemblies.
- Valid certification in welding or rigging is preferred but not mandatory; relevant construction experience is essential.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail.
