The Opportunity
We are looking for a Mechanical Assembly & Development Technician to support the build and development of custom automation equipment.

This role is ideal for someone who:

Has a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial assembly

You will play a key role in bringing engineered designs to life while working closely with engineering, electrical, and programming teams.

Role Overview
The Mechanical Assembly & Development Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems used in custom automation equipment.

This includes working with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring that assemblies are built accurately and efficiently.

This role combines hands-on mechanical assembly with problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to ensure systems are built to meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.

The Mechanical Assembly & Development Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality assemblies, identifying and resolving issues proactively,



and supporting project timelines and budgets through efficient and accurate work.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to build and install mechanical and pneumatic systems

Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated and purchased parts into sub-assemblies and finished equipment

Perform precision assembly of machine components, including machining

Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues during assembly and testing

Design, install, and troubleshoot pneumatic circuits

Track and document any modifications to drawing packages

Collaborate with electrical and programming teams to support final equipment integration and development

Communicate project status, issues, and solutions clearly with internal teams

Ensure work is completed on time, within project scope, and to quality standards

Participate in improvement initiatives and propose solutions for system integration challenges

Support installation and commissioning at customer sites (domestic and international travel as required)

Effectively troubleshoots and resolves mechanical issues independently

Contributes to on-time project completion and efficient builds

Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams

Maintains accurate documentation and supports continuous improvement initiatives

Ensures systems are reliable, well-built,



and ready for integration and commissioning

Requirements
Education & Experience

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience

3+ years of experience in automation, machine building, or a related field

Skills & Qualifications

Experience with SOLIDWORKS

Hands-on experience operating machine shop equipment (lathe, mill)

Strong mechanical assembly experience using hand and power tools

Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and schematics

Experience working with pneumatic systems and circuits

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Willingness and ability to work overtime and travel to customer sites, including international travel, when required.

Ability and flexibility to work weekends, when required, to meet project demands.

Strong time management and organizational skills
