Taking the lead in geospatial solutions, the County of Lennox & Addington is dedicated to innovation and delivering quality GIS services to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
What you will do: Reporting to the GIS Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve. Your key responsibilities will include:
Create and maintain GIS databases, tools, applications and templates in support of departmental operations and municipal reporting requirements.
Support creating, editing and maintaining geospatial datasets, including research on emerging technologies and acquiring appropriate datasets.
Support spatial analysis of land use, demographic, economic, and other related data and make recommendations for mapping and application designs.
Assist development of mapping tools and applications in enterprise systems to support strategic and analytical decision making.
Perform field surveys, data collection, site inspections and other duties, as required.
What you will bring:
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for helping people live their best lives and brings:
Post-secondary education in GIS, Geography, Computer Science and/or equivalent experience, preferably in a Municipal environment.
Knowledge of Office 365 tools, GPS systems and AutoCAD considered an asset.
Excellent research and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and effectively in a team; demonstrate good judgement, initiative and critical thinking.
Ability to work on-site, with hybrid work opportunities based on operational requirements
Must have a valid class G driver’s license and use of personal vehicle (travel expense reimbursement will be provided).
