Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a regular term Instructor to teach Carpentry Foundations in Iskut. The appointment will commence September 28, 2026 and end March 26, 2027 for a total of 665 instructional hours (subject to minimum student enrolment) . Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale ranging from $37.55 to $53.81 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties: The instructor will facilitate learning (delivered in a combination of classroom and in shop instruction) and is responsible for ensuring student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition,



the instructor will oversee and ensure shop safety, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities as well as other related duties as required.
Qualifications Qualifications: Carpentry Journeyperson certification and Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience should include a minimum of 5 years’ varied field experience as a Journeyperson and 5 years in a supervisory capacity. A Provincial Instructor Diploma or other relevant teaching certification and experience are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Require skills/abilities include:
A valid Class 5 Driver’s license
Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to inspire and mentor learners of all ages
Knowledge and passion for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
Effective cross-cultural communication skills, particularly with the Indigenous communities
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a collaborative team setting
Excellent organizational, communication and facilitation skills
