Black Diamond Group’s Finance department has a full-time position for Supervisor, Accounting.

This role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.

About the role: Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Supervisor, Accounting is a key member of the Corporate Accounting team responsible for supporting accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting. This role oversees assigned month-end close, consolidation, reconciliation and corporate accounting activities, ensures work is completed in accordance with company policies and IFRS, and provides leadership, coaching and technical support to accounting staff.

The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional with strong knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, consolidation and IFRS reporting.



They bring strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and support an accounting team.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee assigned consolidation and corporate accounting functions, including month-end close activities, reconciliations, lead sheets and supporting schedules;
- Perform analytical review of corporate reconciliations, journal entries and financial results to identify errors, unusual trends and required follow-up;
- Support accounting and reporting for fixed assets, capital expenditures, capital management, leases and related continuity schedules;
- Supervise the Corporate Accounting team by assigning work, reviewing deliverables, providing day-to-day coaching, supporting employee development, and escalating issues as required;
- Review, analyze and approve monthly corporate journal entries in SAP and NetSuite prior to posting;
- Liaise with Financial Reporting, Business Unit accounting teams, Tax, Treasury and other stakeholders to provide accurate and timely information for internal and external reporting;
- Provide support to the Assistant Controller and Business Unit accounting teams on complex accounting matters, process issues and special requests;
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are clearly supported, investigated and resolved on a timely basis;
- Prepare corporate BS and PL variance analysis and quarterly financial reports and analysis;
- Analyze, prepare and maintain equity transactions, continuity schedules and reporting support;
- Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls;
- Identify,



recommend and support preventative and detective controls that improve the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial reporting;
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, share best practices and support standardization across divisions and systems;
- Support senior leadership with ad hoc analysis, accounting research, audit requests and other special projects as required.

Qualifications

- CPA designation required
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting, financial reporting or multi-entity environment.
- Previous supervisory, team lead or coaching experience is preferred.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, intercompany transactions, fixed assets and leases.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Robust review, documentation and issue-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and operate effectively during month-end, quarter-end and year-end close cycles.
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
