Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow.

Join Us in Keeping Critical Mining Operations Running Safely and Efficiently! Are you passionate about industrial maintenance and mining operations? If you are an experienced Millwright who excels in troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and mechanical repairs, we want you on our team!
Role Overview As a Millwright , you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical processing and mining infrastructure. Reporting to the
Supervisor, Mill Maintenance , you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting,
and repairing equipment associated with the 8,000 tpd mil, paste plant, water treatment systems, tailings operations, and underground equipment
. Working closely with operations, maintenance teams, and apprentices, you will help maximize equipment availability while supporting a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Maintenance: Install, align, dismantle, relocate, and maintain stationary industrial machinery including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, air compressors, jaw crushers, and cone crushers.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical issues, identify faults and malfunctions, and perform repairs or component replacements as required.
- Plant Reliability: Maintain and support systems within the 8,000 tpd processing plant, paste plant, and water treatment facilities to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, diagnostics, and inspections in the preventive and predictive maintenance database before the end of each shift.
- Operational Support & Mentorship: Respond to operator calls, troubleshoot equipment issues, operate mobile equipment as required, and assist in the development of apprentices through coaching and delegated tasks
What You Bring To The Table
- Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining a gold milling plant or operating in an industrial plant environment.
- Provincial Industrial Millwright Journeyman Trade Certificate
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial processing equipment and plant systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings and prints.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered a strong asset.
- Strong communication skills, including oral, written, and active listening abilities.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Experience operating mobile equipment such as aerial work platforms, scissor lifts, tele-handlers, and front-end loaders is an asset.

Working Conditions
- 7 days on and 7 days off – 12 hours
- Work performed in processing plants, maintenance shops, surface facilities, and surface mining environments.

This is an existing vacancy. Hourly Range: CAD $45.60 - $70.68 The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making.
