As a Survey Technician at WWK Engineering you will play a crucial role in supporting our civil engineering projects. You will work closely with our engineers and project managers to ensure the successful planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering endeavors. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and dedication to quality will be essential in helping us achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities

As a Survey Technician, you will support a variety of land surveying and civil engineering projects through a combination of field and office-based work. Key responsibilities will include:

- Conduct topographical surveys and field data collection in support of a variety of projects.
- Perform drone surveys and assist with the collection and processing of aerial survey data.




- Operate and utilize surveying equipment, technology, and software to collect accurate field information.
- Prepare, review, and manage survey data and field documentation.
- Utilize industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS for surveying, drafting and design activities.
- Work collaboratively with surveyors, engineers, technologists, and other project team members to support the successful delivery of projects.
- Undertake survey layout for new construction projects.
- Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, quality, safety, and adherence to project requirements.

Additional Responsibilities The successful candidate will have opportunities to expand their skills and contribute to a broader range of civil engineering and field services. Depending on project requirements, experience, and interests, additional responsibilities may include:

- Supporting construction inspections and field reviews.
- Assisting with ground-penetrating radar (GPR) investigations.
- Developing engineering drawings and plans from concepts, sketches, and field information.
- Assisting with the preparation of site grading plans, road and utility profiles, and quantity calculations.
- Supporting materials testing and related field documentation.
- Assisting with other civil engineering and surveying tasks as required.

These additional responsibilities provide an opportunity to broaden your technical experience and develop skills across multiple areas of surveying and civil engineering. Required Skills & Abilities

- Minimum two (2) years experience in surveying.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.

Required Qualifications

- Proficiency in Civil 3D and Trimble Business Centre.
- Proficiency in topographical survey techniques and field practices (total station and GNSS).
- Sound knowledge of civil design principles, construction standards, and specifications.
- Eligibility for ASTTBC designation.
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 7 Novice ‘N’ license or higher is required and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications & Assets The following experience and qualifications would be considered an asset:

- Experience with construction inspection and/or materials testing.
- Familiarity with ground-penetrating radar (GPR).
- Experience developing engineering designs and drawings, including site grading plans, road and utility profiles, and quantity calculations.
- Experience with GIS software and applications.
- Drone Pilot Licence – Basic and/or Advanced
- Previous experience working in a consulting engineering or surveying environment.
