About the Role This is a senior-level contract development role embedded within a Network Operations and Automation team at a leading energy infrastructure organization.

The team is building enterprise scale automation platforms that manage the full lifecycle of network infrastructure across both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments, covering firmware upgrades, configuration management, and operational workflows for technologies including Cisco routers and switches, SD-WAN appliances, and cellular modem platforms.

The work directly improves reliability, security, and operational efficiency across mission-critical systems.

The ideal candidate brings 5 or more years of professional software development experience and is genuinely comfortable working at the intersection of software engineering and network infrastructure.

You write strong Type

Script and Python, you know your way around React and AWS, and you can translate complex operational processes into clean, repeatable automation workflows.

You work well alongside experienced network SMEs, you take quality seriously, and you are curious about applying AI-assisted development practices to real enterprise problems.

Key Responsibilities 1.

Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions supporting firmware upgrades and network lifecycle management across IT and OT environments 2.

Collaborate closely with network SMEs to translate operational processes into reliable, repeatable automation workflows 3.

Build end-to-end automation covering pre-upgrade validation, execution, verification,



and rollback mechanisms 4.

Develop user-facing tools and APIs that support operator-driven workflows 5.

Implement audit logging and error-handling capabilities to support operational transparency and compliance requirements 6.

Integrate automation solutions with enterprise monitoring, inventory, and service management platforms 7.

Apply AI-assisted development tooling to accelerate delivery and improve solution quality 8.

Contribute to reusable frameworks and shared automation patterns across the team Required Skills & Experience 5 or more years of professional software development experience University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience) Strong proficiency in Type
