Role Description The Tactical Security Guard is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring premises, conducting security patrols, controlling access points, and responding to incidents or alarms in a calm and professional manner. The role involves assessing potential threats, de-escalating challenging situations, and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when required.

Tactical Security

Guards document incidents, complete detailed reports,



and communicate clearly with supervisors and clients to ensure ongoing risk awareness. The position also requires providing excellent customer service, representing Blackbird Security’s values, and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members.
- Candidates should possess Physical Security and Private Security skills to conduct patrols, monitor facilities, and enforce site-specific protocols.
- Candidates should possess Personnel Security skills to manage access control, verify identification, and protect individuals on-site.
- Relevant security guard licensing or certification in Ontario, and familiarity with local laws and regulations, are beneficial.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and effectively de-escalate conflicts is required.
- Good physical fitness, situational awareness, and willingness to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, are important.
- Previous experience in tactical or high-risk security environments, law enforcement, or military settings is an asset.
