In this position, you'll support reliable financial operations, including creating payments, invoices, and refunds, while working closely with ministries and clients across government and providing customer service to external suppliers and customers of the OPS. It's a unique opportunity to build trusted partnerships, strengthen your financial expertise, and contribute to improvements that enhance service delivery.

Please note: The number of positions to be filled has not yet been determined. This competition will be used to create an eligibility list of qualified candidates to fill temporary unilingual full-time and part time positions, as well as bilingual part-time positions, within the eighteen (18) months following the closing date of the job posting.

Positions will be filled in the following locations

- 159 Cedar St., Sudbury
- 200 First Ave. W, North Bay

About the job

You will:

- complete financial processing reviews and reconcile financial reports.
- process and prepare documentation for a variety of financial transactions.
- review transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting practices.
- track and monitor transactions to resolve processing issues.
- provide on-going program business improvement support to management and clients.
- provide customer service to the public through phone and email correspondence.

What you bring to the team

Financial knowledge and experience

You have:

- knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
- ability to process financial transactions in line with corporate policies and recommend process improvements.
- knowledge of arithmetic methods to perform calculations.
- experience using computerized financial systems and spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel) to reformat and analyze data, use formulas, etc.
- ability to obtain knowledge of ministries and their programs to respond and/or redirect enquiries from managers and staff.





Analytical and evaluative skills

- You have analytical skills and attention to detail to identify and investigate discrepancies.
- You demonstrate sound judgment to assess accounts, take appropriate action, and recommend procedural improvements.

Communication and interpersonal skills

You have:

- communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures and deal with ministry clients, staff and external suppliers.
- tact and diplomacy when communicating with client mangers and staff.
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- proven customer service skills.
