Job Summary The HFM Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end administration, maintenance, and operational support of Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) environments within an enterprise Application Managed Services (AMS) engagement. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of HFM infrastructure across Development, QA/UAT, and Production landscapes, while collaborating closely with functional finance teams, DBAs, and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration &
- Support
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle HFM (11.x / 11.2.x) and Hyperion EPM suite components including Financial Data Quality Management (FDMEE), HFM Web, Workspace, and Shared Services.
Administer HFM applications, security profiles, metadata, and consolidation rules.
Monitor system health, performance metrics, and availability across all HFM environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
Apply quarterly Oracle CPU patches and manage patching lifecycle with minimal downtime.
Perform capacity planning, environment cloning, and refresh activities.
Incident &
- Problem Management
Manage and resolve HFM-related incidents, service requests, and problems via ServiceNow, adhering to defined SLAs and OLAs.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents including consolidation failures, data load errors, and environment outages.
Coordinate with Oracle Support for SR management, diagnostic data gathering, and patch application.
Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues and maintenance procedures.
Security &
- Access Management
Administer Oracle Identity and Access Management (IDCS/OAM) integrations for HFM user provisioning and deprovisioning.
Manage role-based security assignments in Shared Services and enforce least-privilege access principles.
Conduct periodic user access reviews and support audit/compliance requirements (SOX, IT General Controls).
Respond to and remediate security vulnerabilities (e.g., Log4j, CVSS-rated findings) within defined SLA windows.
Infrastructure &
- Integration Support
Collaborate with DBA teams to support Oracle database backups, clones, and performance tuning for HFM repositories.
Manage Windows Server environments hosting HFM application tiers, including IIS, service accounts, and SSL certificates.
Support integrations between HFM and upstream/downstream systems including FDMEE, Essbase, Planning, and ERP (SAP/Oracle ERP).
Coordinate environment readiness for Month-End Close (MEC) and Quarter-End Close cycles.
Governance &
- Continuous Improvement
Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews; prepare change requests and impact assessments.
Maintain configuration management documentation and CMDB accuracy for HFM assets.
Contribute to Go/No-Go readiness assessments for AMS transitions and new application onboarding
Skill Requirements
5 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle Hyperion / HFM in an enterprise environment.
Strong working knowledge of Oracle EPM stack: HFM, FDMEE, Workspace, Shared Services, Essbase.
Proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019), IIS administration, and service management.
Experience with Oracle database administration basics (Oracle 12c/19c) relevant to EPM repositories.
Solid understanding of Hyperion patching processes and Oracle MOS (My Oracle Support)
engagement.
Familiarity with ITIL practices;
experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms.
Ability to create and maintain technical runbooks and RCA documentation.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive support mindset.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Oracle EPM certification or equivalent Hyperion training credentials.
Experience with Oracle IDCS / OAM / identity federation for EPM security.
Exposure to cloud-based EPM (Oracle EPM Cloud / PBCS / FCCS) migration or hybrid environments.
Knowledge of SOX IT General Controls and audit support for financial consolidation platforms.
Experience in an AMS/managed services delivery model with offshore/onsite coordination.
Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Snyk, Qualys, or Tenable.
Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or shell) for automation of administrative tasks.
