Position Title: Director, Finance Salary & Benefits: $140,000-180,000 w/ 30% bonus Position Status: Current Vacancy Location: Gatineau, QC Work Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) This of Director - Finance sits at the center of a large, fastmoving North American finance platform, overseeing a 30+ person accounting organization responsible for a complex portfolio with approximately $25 billion in assets under management and $2 billion in annual revenue.

It is a transformative leadership position designed for a proactive, collaborative finance executive who thrives on solving intricate challenges, takes full ownership of outcomes, and brings a continuousimprovement mindset to both strategy and execution.

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and working closely with senior leadership, the Director will shape the future of the finance function by driving modernization, mentoring a highperforming team, and implementing scalable, automated workflowssupported by an extended, structured handover to ensure a strong start from day one.

Key Responsibilities Continuous Improvement & Business Transformation Champion major finance and accounting transformation initiatives aimed at simplifying processes, standardizing practices, and embedding AIenabled automation across the function.

Diagnose operational bottlenecks and lead efforts to modernize workflows, improving close accuracy, speed, and audit readiness while reducing manual effort.

Oversee accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and capital recycling activities, establishing scalable integration frameworks that support longterm platform growth.

Controllership Lead complex, multientity accounting operations, ensuring precision, completeness, and consistency across all trial balances within the platform.

Drive a disciplined, predictable, and accelerated close process across multiple subteams,



reinforcing strong controls and highquality outputs.

Serve as the senior authority on advanced IFRS and U.S. GAAP matters, guiding policy interpretation and resolving complex accounting judgments.

Oversee external audit coordination and SOX compliance, proactively identifying control gaps and implementing remediation strategies to strengthen the overall control environment.

Provide senior executives with clear, actionable financial insights that inform strategic decisions and support enterprisewide priorities.

Leadership & Development Make decisive, valuedriven choices and provide explicit strategic direction while maintaining a strong bias for action.

Build and sustain a highperformance culture by setting ambitious goals, empowering team members, and developing succession depth across a 30+ person organization.

Instill a continuousimprovement mindset, encouraging teams to challenge existing processes and pursue innovative, scalable solutions.

Cultivate strong, trustbased relationships with executive leaders, crossfunctional partners, and operational teams to ensure alignment and shared accountability.

The ideal candidate brings more than twelve years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including meaningful leadership over multilayered teams within large, complex environments such as Fortune Global 500 organizations, sharedservices structures, or matrixed accounting models.





They hold an active Canadian CPA designation and have gained publiccompany exposure through corporate roles or extensive Big 4 audit experience.

Their technical foundation includes deep mastery of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, enterprise financial close processes, and practical familiarity with SOX/ICFR frameworks.

They have a proven track record of leading major transformation, automation, or changemanagement initiatives, and experience with systems such as IFS, Blackline, One

Stream, Optro, or IT2 is considered a strong asset.

This role requires onsite presence at least four days per week to support collaboration and operational effectiveness.

What Will Make You Stand Out: Demonstrated leadership of largescale finance transformations that materially improved close speed, control strength, and automation maturity across a complex organization. A history of influencing senior executives and driving enterprisewide change through clear communication, strong ownership, and disciplined execution.

Handson expertise with modern closeoptimization and automation tools (e.g., Blackline, One

Stream, IT2), paired with a forwardlooking mindset toward AIenabled workflows.

Exceptional ability to build, mentor, and scale highperforming teams, particularly within multientity or multijurisdictional finance environments. ------------------------------------------------------------- AI may be used to support certain administrative aspects of our recruitment process.
