Position: Senior Software Developer

Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, integration, and maintenance of enterprise applications within a large-scale public sector environment.

The successful consultant will be responsible for translating technical specifications into high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. The role requires extensive experience in Java enterprise development, cloud technologies, business process automation, system integrations, microservices architecture, database development, accessibility compliance, and Agile delivery practices.

Scope

Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade software solutions using Java and related technologies.

Develop and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based web services and API integrations.

Design and implement microservices-based applications and distributed systems.

Develop and maintain business rules using IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM).

Integrate enterprise applications with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and other enterprise systems.

Assignment Deliverables

Design, develop, and implement scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and NodeJS.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and microservices-based solutions.

Build and integrate business process automation solutions using IBM ODM and IBM BAW.

Develop PL/SQL packages, migration scripts,



and database transformation components to support data integration initiatives.

Create and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, deployment packages, and release documentation.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

10+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise Java/JEE applications.

Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, EJB, Angular, NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AJAX.

Extensive experience developing RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and microservices architectures.

Proven experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) and IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud-based deployments.

Strong experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and Liberty environments.

Advanced PL/SQL development skills including complex queries, stored procedures, migration scripts, and data transformation.

Nice to Have:

Experience with OpenText Content Management System APIs and metadata management.

Experience with enterprise content management and document lifecycle solutions.

Familiarity with IBM Rational development and modeling tools.
