Join our dedicated team and contribute to shaping the future of manufacturing excellence. This is a full time on-site position located in Scarborough, ON, for a Tooling Engineer.
The Tooling
Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tool designs and processes for injection molding operations. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing specifications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, overseeing the development and maintenance of tools, and ensuring that production runs efficiently and meets quality standards. Create tooling specs for RFQs, and sourcing of injection molds.
Evaluate the results of mold flow and recommend best solutions. Review mold designs and provide feedback for improvements.
Review engineering changes and their impacts in molds. Review mold repair. Participate in mold trials, check the quality of molds and parts, and recommend changes and adjustments.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in automotive injection molding. Extensive experience and expertise on injection molding tooling design.
Experience with 3D modeling software, preferably NX. Knowledge and experience of GD&T; drawing. Ability to travel internationally as required. Excellent documentation, organizational and project management skills.
Practical knowledge of machining processes is an asset. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and MS Project.
