Job Summary

I’m looking for a Toronto-based student, emerging or amateur photographer interested in a paid portrait/lifestyle photography project.

I’m the publisher of a Canadian media company and am looking to create a small collection of strong photographs of myself that can be used for press coverage, business profiles, websites, social media and other editorial purposes.

I’m looking for someone with a good eye for natural, modern editorial photography. You do not need to be an established professional photographer. Photography students and people building their portfolios are very welcome.

The goal would be to shoot three different looks:

- Professional / Editorial – A polished portrait suitable for press, business profiles, speaking engagements and professional use.
- Lifestyle Editorial – More relaxed and natural, potentially photographed around Toronto, while still looking intentional and editorial rather than like a standard portrait session.
- Men’s Fashion / Editorial – A more stylish, fashion-forward portrait inspired by the type of men's photography you might see in publications such as GQ or Esquire.

I don't need a huge number of finished photographs.



The main goal is to come away with at least one excellent final image from each of the three looks. I would provide my own wardrobe and am not looking to bring in a stylist for this version of the project. I’m happy to collaborate on locations, wardrobe choices, lighting, posing and concepts with the photographer.

I’m particularly interested in finding someone creative who might have a strong portfolio or Instagram but is still building their qualified photography experience.

- Your approximate rate for the project
- A little about your experience and how you would approach the shoot

The shoot would take place in Toronto. If the collaboration works well, there could also be opportunities for future photography assignments with our media publications.

Pay: $50.00-$100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 per week
