ROLE:

Trophy Rail is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and professional Track Inspector to support our railroad maintenance and construction operations throughout Western Canada. You will inspect tracks, switches, and rights-of-way to identify defects, ensure safety, and guarantee compliance with Transport Canada regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct Inspections: Walk and drive rail lines using hi-rail vehicles to inspect rails, ties, ballast, and switches.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of railroad track maintenance or inspection experience.
- Certifications: Certified under Transport Canada Track Safety Rules (TSR) and Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR).
- Licence: Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk long distances on uneven terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Identify Defects: Detect structural flaws, wear, loose components, and alignment issues.
- Document Findings: Write clear, accurate inspection reports and log safety hazards.
- Coordinate Repairs: Inform maintenance crews immediately about urgent track defects.
- Ensure Compliance:



Verify all track infrastructure meets Transport Canada Track Safety Rules.

Travel Requirements

- Extensive travel throughout Western Canada.
- Extended periods away from home.
- Adaptable schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel as operational requirements dictate.

Safety Requirements Employees are expected to maintain the highest safety standards while representing Trophy Rail. The successful candidate must:

- Comply with all Trophy Rail safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in required safety meetings and training.
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, including:
- Driver's abstract review
- Criminal record check
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing (where applicable)
- Medical examination as required
- Be fit for duty at all times.
