As a member of the Public Health Leadership team, is accountable for contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of overall operational plans, policy, and programs to support client-focused care and service delivery within the Calgary zone. Supports provincial and AHS strategic changes and develop strategies and processes to communicate and facilitate staff in their movement to new models or practices in collaboration with Program Managers, Director, Educators, Leads, and Stakeholders. Promotes a culture supporting hazard assessment, risk management, incident identification, reporting and correction, and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and safe work practices to continually improve health and safety for staff and clients. Provides day-to-day supervision and leadership through effective communication, ethical decision-making, and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives. Supports shared understanding of the direction and vision of program goals with the front-line staff. Fosters an environment where staff members take responsibility for their work and contribute to the achievement of the business goals. Ensures that policies, procedures, standards, and practices are implemented consistently and that compliance is achieved. Participates with Program Manager in the recruitment of staff including the development of position profiles, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding. Responsible for attendance management, performance management and appraisals, and coaching. Identifies Workplace Health, Safety, and wellness trends and issues within the Program.



Oversees the implementation of collective agreements across the areas of responsibility. Engages internal and external stakeholders in the change process, understands the impact on both internal and external stakeholders, and manages risks and benefits accordingly.Description:The Care Manager for Immunization and Rapid Response Services is a key operational leadership role within the Public Health team in the Calgary Zone and reports directly to the Program Manager, Public Health, Calgary. This position is responsible and accountable for providing direction, team leadership, and organization over the day-to-day activities of public health services (Immunization Services and Rapid Response and Sheldon Chumir Immunization Clinic) in support of the vision and mission of Primary Care Alberta. Canadian Community Health Nursing Certification – Specialization an asset. A minimum of 5 years in a management role in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. The incumbent will demonstrate a explicit pattern of professional and personal development and have a proven track record of success in health leadership.Additional Required QualificationsProficient in managing many competing priorities, demonstrated critical thinking, working with complex vaccine schedules, and problem-solving. Considerable experience leading teams, coaching team members, and supervisory skills. Proficient with technology and the use of electronic clinical information systems. Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and respond safely and quickly to a variety of emergency situations. Lift/carry supplies up to a minimum of 30 lbs.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in nursing or related field. 3-5 years of Public Health clinical experience.
