We are seeking experienced Transmission Engineers to support the planning, engineering, design, and execution of high-voltage transmission and substation projects. The successful candidates may have expertise in Civil/Structural, Electrical, Transmission Line, or Protection & Control engineering .
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering and design activities for high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and related electrical infrastructure .
- Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
- Perform transmission line design, including structures, foundations, conductors, insulators, grounding, clearances, and sag/tension calculations .
- Perform civil and structural engineering for transmission towers, poles, foundations, equipment supports, and related infrastructure .
- Perform electrical engineering, including power-system studies, equipment selection, electrical clearances, grounding, insulation, and transmission system design .
- Develop Protection & Control designs, including protection schemes, relay settings, control logic, schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation automation.
- Support SCADA, RTU, communications, protective relaying, and substation control systems where applicable.
- Review contractor, supplier, and vendor drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions.
- Conduct engineering reviews, field investigations, and site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization activities.
- Coordinate engineering requirements with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, electrical, protection & control, environmental, survey, geotechnical, and construction teams.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable Canadian codes, standards, utility requirements, safety requirements,
and project specifications .
- Identify technical issues, develop solutions, and provide engineering recommendations to project teams and clients.
- Assist with project planning, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and technical proposals as required.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and engineering staff.

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline .
- P.Eng. designation in Ontario or other provinces
- Relevant experience in electrical transmission, transmission lines, substations, power systems, or utility infrastructure .
- Experience with engineering design, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Knowledge of applicable Canadian electrical, structural, civil, and utility standards.
- Experience with relevant engineering and design software.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering and project environment.
- Field experience, construction support, testing, or commissioning experience is an asset.
