We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance will be vital in supporting our logistics operations.

Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over long or short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and placement of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle reliability and safety
- Follow all company policies regarding safety procedures, hours of service regulations, and cargo securement standards
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in forklift operation for loading and unloading freight efficiently
- Experience handling freight shipments with attention to accuracy and care
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including forklifts and other loading machinery
- Strong understanding of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Ability to work independently in a quick-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
