Job Summary
Here at Chinook Transport Service we are locally owned and family operated in Calgary for over 20 years, We provide a wide range of transportation services, including last mile delivery, temperature controlled transport, and various logistics solutions.
With service offered seven days a week, and a commitment to the safe transportation of any and all goods we handle. We are seeking a agile and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks and trailers to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of safety.
This position offers a role to be a vital part of a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment committed to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to transport freight over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
- abilities to effectivley record stops for fueling or deliveries.
- Keeping track of times when in and out of a stop.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness
- Follow all safety protocols related to freight handling, equipment operation, and road safety to prevent accidents or damage
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL)
with a clean driving record and
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to freight handling and heavy equipment operation
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, perform inspections, and handle freight securely

- Night Time Company Driver
- Night Time Owner Operator

We are looking for individuals with a hardworking attitude, who have working knowledge of tools and mechanics. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other things that will help you succeed in this role include:
- Ability to be self-motivated and work unsupervised
-Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with different personalities. -Ability to solve minor issues effectively and correctly to situations that may arise during a run.

Pay: From $20.25 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
